RockCrawler Review: Advanced Air System's Power Tank
1/29/05 |
"At a glance, the Power Tank is simply a gas bottle with a regulator and hose on it that can then be used wherever you would normally use an air compressor. Fair enough. But the fact is, the Power Tank is a lot more than that." |

RockCrawler Review: Currie Tire Deflator
1/29/05 |
"How long does it take you to air down your tires every time you wheel? Ok, it may not be an eternity, but it's time-consuming and it's also a drag flipping your tire gauge over to check pressure every couple pounds to see where you're at. Well, Currie's got a cure!" |

RockCrawler Review: Staun Tyre Deflators
1/29/05 |
"The whole idea of the Staun Tyre Deflators is that you can preset the air pressure you want to run and then lock them so that you can rapidly air down to that pressure every time you use them without having to fiddle with a pressure gauge." |

"For our Jeep, we prefer our 10 pound tanks, so those will remain in the Jeep. Our CFH-20 will likely find itself riding in our Xterra during family trips to be used in case of emergenices, and will also find itself a home on our shop workbench and in our radio control truck travel box." |

ARB E-Z Tire Deflator

"The unique, patented design of the E-Z deflator allows for removal of the valve core for rapid tire deflation, while also providing accurate tire reading via the simple movement of a sliding valve." | |

I won one of these at the 2008 LOST Moab raffle, and it's awesome! Because it removes the core, it deflates incredibly fast. I can take all four tires from 40 psi to 15 psi in 4-5 minutes, including all the time it takes to remove and replace the valve caps. |

There are a lot of <$100 air compressors out there, but I don't think you're going to find anything close to this one. It puts out 72 lpm (2.5 CFM), can be run 40 minutes at a time (most have to be rested for 30 minutes after 15 minutes of use), and I got mine for $47.92 out the door, including tax. |

This compressor costs about 1/4 as much as the Viair 100P and delivers about the same output. However, I've read reports that it's hard on cigarette lighters. A heavy-duty compressor should really connect directly to the battery, not through the cig lighter. |
